Neo-Nazi protesters at a Jewish convention I was working at called attendees “disgusting Kikes”

In the early 2000s, I worked at a large event in the World Trade Center in Boston. Security was high and we had been told there were some protesters outside. As I left the event with a group of colleagues, I noticed that a perimeter had been set up around the entrance and that several groups of people were protesting the event. A group of neo-Nazis rushed the barrier that had been set up and started shouting at us. I (thankfully) didn’t understand all of it, but I did hear “disgusting kikes” and one of the protesters spat at us. They were very angry and really pushing at the barrier. The police had to tell them to calm down.

I am not Jewish, and this is the first time I had seen or even been aware of current-day antisemitism. It was only a couple of seconds, but it was scary and the most unsafe I have felt in my life.
